Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to schedule an appointment to try on wedding gowns and what do I bring along?
A: We do require an appointment to try on wedding gowns. Most gowns are cumbersome and difficult to put on, therefore a bridal consultant is present to assist you. Also, working one-on-one with you helps us explain the gown; its fit, fabric and options available. You don't need to bring anything other than yourself to try on gowns. We have bras, shoes and slips available while you are trying dresses on. We allot about an hour for each appointment. Also, no pictures are allowed unless the gown is purchased.
Q: Do I need an appointment for my bridesmaids to try on dresses?
A: If you are shopping with a large number of girls, it is advisable that you schedule an appointment so there will be a fitting room available for your group.
Q: When do I begin searching for a bridal gown and how much time do I need to order?
A: The place you choose for your wedding determines the style and formality of your dress. Decide on your setting then begin your wedding gown search. Most of our designers take anywhere from 4 to 7 months for an order, then we allow two months for the fittings. The entire process may take 9 months or longer. The more time you allow for the ordering and fitting the more at ease you will feel.
Q: What do I need to bring to my fittings and how many will I need to fit my gown?
A: We begin your fittings two months before your wedding date. You need to bring shoes, any undergarments that you may be wearing and bring some jewelry to try on with your gown. Shoes are the most important accessory to bring since your hem and bustle is based on the height of your heels. Never change shoes after your first fitting, unless it is the same height. There is no limit to the amount of fittings needed. We do fittings up until your wedding day for that perfect fit.
Q: What is a trunk show?
A: Traditionally, a trunk show is when the designer arrives at a boutique with a trunk full of the most recent creations from the design studio. Typically, the bridal gowns are offered at special prices reserved only for trunk shows.
